ELECTORAL REFORM
1. Our system of government is broken because of the influence of
money. The influence of money needs to be eliminated as much as
possible from our system.
2. I vigorously support and will work
towards public financing of all campaigns.
3. Despite any supreme court decision to the contrary,
corporations are not people. Corporations should not be entitled to
donate money directly to candidates or through political parties or
political action committees.
4. I will propose legislation which makes Election Day a state
holiday. We need to cherish and celebrate and exercise our right to
vote. Healthy democracy is dependent upon and should facilitate an
engaged and informed electorate.
5. I support the implementation of a truly independent
re-districting commission for the purpose of determining election
district boundaries. I support repealing the NYS Senate's legislation
which puts in place a weak commission in 2022.
6. I support a transition to Instant Run-off Voting for all
